This Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating women in New Orleans who are helping others heal, grow, and feel supported. From women’s health education to building community for mothers and supporting recovery, these leaders are making a meaningful impact in the wellness space and helping people feel less alone in their journeys.

1. Sarah Reardon

Sarah Reardon, often known as “The Vagina Whisperer,” is a pelvic floor physical therapist and educator helping women better understand their bodies, particularly during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and beyond. Through her educational platform and social media presence, she has helped normalize conversations around pelvic health and women’s wellness. She is also the author of Floored: A Woman’s Guide to Pelvic Floor Health at Every Age and Stage, a practical guide that helps women understand and care for their pelvic health throughout different stages of life.

2.New Orleans Moms

Founded by Ashley Aguilar Angelico and Elizabeth Schmelling, New Orleans Moms has built one of the largest parenting communities in the region. Through events, local guides, and partnerships, they connect families and help mothers find support during the often overwhelming journey of parenting. By bringing parents together and highlighting local resources, they help create a stronger sense of connection across the city.

3. Grace House

Grace House is a residential recovery program dedicated to helping women overcome substance use disorders and rebuild their lives. Through treatment, counseling, and community support, the organization provides women with the tools they need to move toward long-term recovery. Their work strengthens not only the women they serve but also the families and communities around them.
